This site is an interface for communication with Academic, Governmental, and Commercial users. We do not interact with the general public as the products and services we provide are statistical and intended for professional users.

In 2019 it was decided to release a small portion of the base data to external users, and this site is a contact point which is operated by independent distributors of selected products which have been authorised for release by The Economic Data Institute.

About the Economic Data Institute

The Economic Data Institute is a private, non-partisan, and non-political research foundation established in 1974 to provide original research, data, publications, and software for the internal use of our members. The Institute is a membership body which does not supply, service, or enter into communication with non-members. The membership specifically excludes all tribal manifestations of our species, be that geographic, political or religious; and those with irrational or superstitious attitudes, beliefs, or behaviours.

The Institute does not seek to influence or lobby anybody, and 95% of the data we collect and analyse is supplied strictly to our members for their internal use.

The Institute researches a wide range of fiscal, macro and micro economic issues; correlated with government, political, financial, commercial, business, social, and consumer data. The multi-level collection and correlation of the data provides both a benchmark for data integrity and verification, as well as a solid basis for data analysis and forecasting. The Institute’s research is worldwide.

More recently the Institute has been able to provide ‘big data’ products derived from correlations with very large current & historic databases from national & local government, employment, income, educational, medical, purchasing, expenditure, financial, commercial, political, social media, and other sources which are able to both isolate discrete localities and define individual data subjects.

We do not deliver opinions, but simple, impartial, and neutral statistical data; albeit this data is inevitably tainted with the subjective opinions and prejudices of the data sources, especially where those sources are political, commercial, or the general public. These researched attitudes and opinions are simply reported verbatim where and when necessary, with an appropriate data caveat advisory.  The presentation of this data is statistical and we have as far as possible not directly quoted any commentary present in the raw data as this arguably may be in some respect partisan. Obviously some Primary Survey data will have partisan elements based on the responses of those interviewed; however, when this is objectively presented the partisan data is put into context, and can be viewed as part of a complete and statistically valid database.

The Institute is a not-for-profit entity and is self-funded from the provision of our products to our members. These products are supplied on a strictly cost-plus basis which includes an 8% uplift to support future research and development. The Institute accepts no donations or funding from any external sources.

The Institute is managed by a team of administrators appointed by a supervisory committee which is elected by the membership.

The Institute’s online networks and connectivity is strictly encrypted per-to-peer with our membership and we do not have a publicly accessible Internet presence; albeit encrypted Internet connectivity is used by the membership and by our research personnel and facilities.
